GETTING AUSSIES TO TRADE THEIR IN THEIR SCARY SOFA FOR A FANTASTIC ONE.

There’s nothing scarier than a ratty old sofa that someone has kept for way too long. Stained, saggy and definitely seen better days.

We’ve all got a story of a scary sofa or know someone who has one. So for Halloween we set out to find Australia’s scariest sofa stories and turn them into Fantastic ones.

Scary Sofa Swap is a tactical integrated  campaign to drive sofa sales for Fantastic Furniture. The campaign activated through PR, social, content and media partnerships with KIIS and Spotify.

To launch the campaign we conducted a national representative study which showed that half of Australian adults (49%) have found something disgusting in or on their sofa, whether it be mouldy or odorous food (37%), spilt drinks that have left a sticky residue (36%), insects (30%), or even sweaty and dirty socks (29%).

We then gave people the chance to trade in their scary sofa for a Fantastic one, by simply sharing a picture of their sofa horror story on Instagram using the hashtag #scarysofaswap, or by entering online. Each week, one winner was given a $500 Fantastic Furniture voucher with the grand prize winner winning a home make over.
